Jehovah-Jireh

Another glimpse into the character of God is His name Jehovah-Jireh,
“The LORD provides. The LORD will see to it.”

We Christians are witness to all the Blessed LORD provides.
But the greatest of all His provisions for us is found in John 3: 16, where it is written:

”For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.”

Why is this the greatest provision of all?

Through Jesus Christ, Jehovah-Jireh provides us salvation, a way to be saved from eternal damnation, which is the result of sin. Even though we might be the best person we can ever be; it is not enough. We were born in sin, because we are the offspring of Adam, the first man who sinned.

God says in Hebrews 9 that the purification by the sacrifice of bulls and goats was only temporary, a figure of what was to come. Hebrews 10: 4 states that is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away the sins of the people.

The Holy Ghost signifies that Christ, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood entered into the Most Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for His believers. In other words, Jehovah-Jireh provided a perfect lamb, His Son, Jesus Christ who had no sin, as the sacrifice for our sins. Think of it: God gave His own blood for us. Jehovah-Jireh loves us so.

In Romans 1: 16, it says that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes, both Jew and Gentile. For in the gospel of Christ, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” To obtain God’s salvation, one must have faith in the Son of God.

Believers in Christ now have boldness to enter into the Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, which consecrates us. Let us draw near to Him with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. Hebrews 10: 19-23

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, (meaning when one willingly or defiantly disobeys God) there remains no more sacrifice for sins. All that remains is God’s fearful judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10: 26-27 “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10: 31

But to those who believe and live by their faith in Jesus Christ,
Jehovah-Jireh provides peace, as written in John 14: 27.

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you:
not as the world gives, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Read, study, and memorize the Holy Scriptures. For God’s Word points to the greatest
of all His provisions for us, the LORD Jesus Christ.

Jehovah-Jireh, the LORD provides, what love for us His name reveals.
Praise His Name forever!
