Robert E. Wood Quote

“The best color in my paintings is found.”

                                                                           Robert E. Wood

Nowadays there has been much publicity on creating artwork by using items found, such as shells, fabrics, and more. In two-dimensional art, the term “found” is also utilized. Beautifully defined by Robert E. Wood, “found” color is creating unique luminous color mixtures directly on paper or canvas. Nowhere do I experience “found” color more pleasing than when I paint on Yupo paper.

“Happy little accidents” was Bob Ross’ famous line. I remember that line whenever color treasures suddenly appear as the paint flows and blends.

What a thrill!
