Support System

How was it when you were growing up? Did you have someone who believed in you and expected the best from you? Did you have someone who encouraged you to follow your dream? Was there someone in your life who informed you that without a shadow of a doubt, you could accomplish whatever you set your mind to do? Maybe this person was a teacher who taught you the necessary tools. Perhaps this person was a forerunner who guided you along the way and encouraged you when times seemed the hardest. Perhaps this person supported you when you were without strength.

All the above describes such a person in my life. He’s someone with whom I don’t need to play games with in order for him to love me. He’s someone who lives up to everything that I consider important, right, and beautiful. You may wonder just who is this fount of perfection.

His name is Jehovah,
Lord God Almighty, and the Ancient of Days.
Alas, the world has another name for Him, an Antiquity of antiquities.
The world says either He does not exist or that He is dead.
Our extremely high intelligent populace does not need such a Being, says the world.
The world is wrong, dead wrong.
To find proof, simply look at the happenings without God in the world around us.
One sees hate, terror, intense inhumanity to man.

By rejecting God and His way, the world is missing something important –
the free gift of God through Jesus Christ called agape love,
a love so powerful, so overwhelming that it changes lives.

As it is written in I John 4:8 “God is love.”

Imagine what it would be like to have someone like God in your corner.
It is possible right now at this very moment to have Christ in your life.
Christ has loved you since the beginning.
He believes in you, expects the best of you, and will stand by you through thick and thin.
If you have already received Christ into your heart, you know this love of God firsthand.
But if this is all new to you, and you want God in your life, then go for it. It is easy.

First you reach out for God. He’s been waiting for you on the sidelines all along. His hand has always been stretched out to you. Don’t be afraid. Come to Him as you are. Just speak from your heart. Tell Christ you have made mistakes and aren’t perfect. (In truth, He already knows this.)
Ask Him to forgive you.
Then ask Christ to come into your heart to stay. It’s that simple.

God’s word says in Revelations 3: 20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock;

if any man hears My voice, and opens the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.”

Open the door of your heart, my Friend, and welcome Christ in.
Live life filled with the power of agape love direct from God Himself.
