The first thing that gets my creative juices flowing is the composition of the scene. Once that is in place, color is the next objective. Choosing colors is not an easy task! There’s local color, expressive color, personal color, or symbolic color, just to mention a few. Then there’s the color temperature, color intensity, and color values. Add the dominant color aspect and discords, oh my. But these decisions are all important in order to produce paintings that have impact! Colors create impact!
