Jesus Christ’s Return Is Very Soon: Sixth Sign

by Kathleen Huebener in Inspiration

For those of us who await the Lord Jesus Christ, amidst all the evil that surrounds us,
the good news is Christ’s return is very imminent. In fact, the signs are shouting at us,
“Repent! The King is coming! Look up, for your redemption draws near!”
The sixth sign is the typical latter day people.

God warns in II Timothy 3: 1-8:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, without self-control, fierce, despisers of those that are good.

Traitors, reckless, haughty, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.

For of this sort are they, which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, EVER LEARNING, and NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouths speak great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration, because of advantage; mockers in the last time, who walk after their own ungodly lusts; sensual, not having the Holy Spirit.1 In the latter times, people will give heed to seducing spirits and speak lies in hypocrisy. Having their consciences seared with a hot iron, they will think they are doing nothing wrong by doing this.2 They scoff at the mention of Jesus Christ’s return. 3 They will look like lambs, but act like ravishing wolves. 4

These people, having become calloused and past any feelings, will give themselves to lasciviousness. They will work all uncleanness with greediness and are insensitive to moral right and wrong written in God’s word. 5 Despising all authority, they are presumptuous, self-willed, and not afraid to speak evil lies about others.6

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men.7

Matthew 24:33
“When you see all these things, JESUS CHRIST IS AT THE DOOR!”

For all my life, I have been naïve in thinking that if I love people, they would feel the love of Christ through my actions and me. Then, I mistakenly thought, they would accept Christ as their Savior too and experience His love themselves. How cruel reality is. These people to whom I showed love, instead feigned love, meanwhile scorning and hating, using and abusing. Christ says from such, turn away.

Since then, I have learned that being a mature Christian means working as a part of a team, Christ’s body. 8 It means I can’t save a person myself by just loving him or her. A mature Christian knows how God works, that He sends a Christian to be a witness for Christ and to plant the seed of salvation. Then He sends another Christian to water this seed. God sends still another Christian to harvest the crop, but God is He who gives the increase.9 The Holy Spirit tells us where and when to go and with whom to speak and what to speak. We can do nothing ourselves but only through Christ!

Together all Christians are Christ’s body and He is the head. It is imperative in these latter days for Christians to remember this, because we must make each moment count for the kingdom of God. For Christ is coming soon!

If we keep this knowledge in perspective,

how should we live out the rest of our lives here on earth?
