The Holy Spirit in these Latter Days

Who is the Holy Spirit? He is God, a Person, not a force, and a vital part of the Godhead, the Holy Trinity.

To Christians, the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and Comforter, who teaches us all things and reminds us of God’s Holy Word. 1 The Holy Spirit flows like a river of living water within every Christian. 2 Because the Holy Spirit indwells Christians, He accomplishes much of His work on earth through Christians. 3 This is why Christ Jesus called Christians “ the salt of the earth, the city on a hill, the light of the world.” 4

Relating to the world:
  • The Holy Spirit first convicts the world of sin, because they don’t believe on Jesus Christ, whom God the Father has sent.5
  • Secondly, the Holy Spirit convicts the world of having no righteousness. For the world has rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ through which the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. 6 Without Christ, all our righteousness is as filthy rags. 7  We simply cannot be righteous without Christ.
  • Thirdly, the Holy Spirit convicts the world of judgment and justice. God is Judge.8       By rejecting Christ Jesus as Lord, the world worships the creature more than the Creator. 9

Presently, the Holy Spirit restrains the evil in the world. 10 Although times are bad due to man’s free will, it would be much worse if not for the Holy Spirit’s restraint. At the Rapture, when the Christians are removed from the earth, the work of the Holy Spirit on the earth ceases. His restraining ministry will be taken out of the world at that same time of the Rapture.

Then follows the seven years of the Great Tribulation, which are described in the book of the Revelation. People, who come to accept Christ as their Savior during these horrific years, will be hunted down and slain.

Revelation 12: 11 states:

“And they overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the word
of their testimony and they loved not their lives unto death.”

Time is running out.

Perhaps the Holy Spirit is touching your heart right now.

He is saying to you, “Christ is real. His sacrifice for you is real.”

Accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your Savior.
