Dry Creek…ah, just saying it brings up good memories.

Nature teeming in Dry Creek and along its edges included minnows, checkered-board garter snakes, and turtles. My rule was that any critters that were caught had to be set free. My children and many neighborhood kids looked for crawdads hiding under the rocks. Catching minnows in old ice cream pails, observing them, and setting them free was a day’s entertainment. Frogs, tadpoles, and pollywogs were also studied. We panned for gold in the creek; never found any, but it was interesting manipulating the system of the old prospectors. Reminiscent of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn times, the kids sailed homemade boats down the creek.

Ah, good memories.

It’s like the Psalmist said in the 23rd Psalm:

“The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want…

He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.”

  Peace like a river…

It is well with my soul.

Thank you, O LORD, for such blessings!
