Jehovah-Shammah

Jehovah-Shammah means “God is there. God is my companion.” All the comforting thoughts that this brings is accumulated in one verse found in Colossians 1: 27. It is addressed to Christians, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Christ in you, the hope of glory, goes beautifully hand-in-hand with “God is there” and “God is my companion.” What hope and strength Christ’s words bring during these uncertain times. ” I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 1,2

This blessed truth is so mind-boggling. Imagine, no matter what we go through, God is with us and will get us through it. Paraphrased, He is saying to us, “Don’t fear. We are in this together. Where there is no light, create light, by faith in Me.” 3

Jehovah-Shammah, how awesome You are!

All praise and all thanks be to your Name forever and ever!

Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised!
